Everybody is keeping a keen eye out there for Deadpool 3 release date to see their favorite foul-mouthed character in action again. There were rumours that the character’s foul mouth might cause the creators to drop him out of the family-friendly MCU. However Marvel boss Kevin Feige clearly stated that he is keen to keep the character as it is.

Alan Horn of Disney also confirmed that fans can expect to see more of Deadpool in the years to come. This was a gust of relief for those waiting for Deadpool 3. However their anticipation received a heavy blow when Deadpool was not featured during Marvel’s impressive Comic-Con 2019 announcement of Marvel’s Phase 4 and beyond.

Is Deadpool 3 coming?

After Deadpool’s absence from Marvel’s Comic-Con display there was great uncertainty. This was cleared when Deadpool’s character star Ryan Reynolds confirmed in December 2019 that the movie was being actively developed. We can hope for the best from the creators.

After the success of Deadpool and Deadpool 2, that grossed almost $800 million worldwide, a third installment to the series seems to be the surest of sure. However, Ryan Reynolds made this doubtful when he said that he still doesn’t feel like a Marvel “insider”. He added that he might get more intimate with the MCU once the third movie is produced, if at all. This might also be Reynolds’ attempts to not giving any absolutes on the upcoming movie.

Deadpool 3 is certainly coming out. The movie was the first fox sequel that Disney is gonna produce after taking over the Fox studio. Performance of the last two films of Deadpool was tremendously well at the box office, and now fans have high expectations from the third as well.

Deadpool 3 Release date

We are all waiting for an official announcement of the release date since it could not happen at the Comic-Con 2019. But, in October 2019, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick reassured everyone that the third movie will happen, they just need to find the “right idea”. As of early 2020, the cast and crew still don’t know when they will commence filming.

It is to be noted that Marvel has got a rather packed slate of new releases during Marvel Phase 4 and what follows it. Thus, Deadpool 3 is not likely to arrive anytime soon. Reynolds himself teased that we could have to wait for Marvel Phase 5 to occur to allow any more Deadpool appearances.

Earlier the release date for Deadpool 3 was set for 2021. However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic seems to be pushing the production work behind schedule. If this be the case then the best of our hopes lie with 2022. Till then the stars are going to keep us busy by posting funny promotional videos such as this one:

Who will get involved?

There is only one name that we can say with certainty is sure to return in Deadpool 3. Without any doubt, Ryan Reynolds will be getting back for his role as Wade Wilson, a.k.a Deadpool. The rest of the cast remains ambiguous as of now.

Actress Lorraine Kelly spoke during an interview that she felt privileged to play the role, as if she was “born for it”. During that same interview with Lorraine, Reynolds also joked that he had been trying to get Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine, despite the fact that he retired the claws in Logan.

Apart from this we do not have the foggiest of ideas as to who can return and who will be new. You know with superheroes there is never a never. They might practically cheat death to be featured in the third installment.

What will happen in Deadpool 3?

Deadpool 3

The Deadpool franchise has come to a point where from where there is no definite path forward. What we can derive from the comments of the cast is that time travel is set to play a more important role in the movie. The previous movie featured  Negasonic Teenage Warhead fixing Cable’s time machine so Deadpool is expected to correct the wrongs that happened in the past, including the career choice made by Ryan Reynolds, which was a regrettable yet hilarious decision.

We can expect the appearance of Cable’s daughter Hope, whose comic book counterpart plays a pivotal role in the future of mutantkind. There is no question of Disney toning down Deadpool universe, which might give a chance to explore the pan-sexuality of the characters. There are suggestions of some heavy cross-overs indicating the return of other former FOX characters.

A lot of uncertainty is out there from which it is difficult to filter the facts. Stick with us to know more!
