Bollywood is a place to make it or break it, the latter being the fate of the majority of movie aspirers. But then there are some stars who don’t follow the graph, being extremely popular at some point and suddenly walking out of the limelight later.
However, one can never forget about their talent and superhit movies that, at least for once, made them the hottest buzz of Bollywood. These Bollywood actors deserve a stupendous comeback.
They might have stayed out of spotlight but whenever we watch their hits we do wonder why they didn’t come back. Perhaps the problem lies in the scarcity of good roles for these immensely talented men and women. Their names can be made into a list as the ones who are ‘keenly desired again’. The previous list enumerated some very obvious names. So here we are with another list of Bollywood actors fans want back on screen.
Take the name ‘Vatsal Sheth’ and a docile, yet smart, image of Raj Chaudhary from his 2004 film Taarzan: The Wonder Car crops up in our minds. This also happens to be Sheth’s debut movie. although before that he appeared in a ’90s TV series Just Mohabbat. In 2007 he appeared in another movie Nanhe Jaisalmer as Vikram Singh.
The following year(2008) was a good one for Sheth as he was cast in multiple movies in more than one languages. His first English movie appearance was The Cheetah Girls: One World. He also starred in a Tamil movie, Boomalattam. The same year he decided to try his luck in the production department with movies such as Sorry Bhai and U Me Aur Hum. Vatsal Sheth was nominated for Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance- Male for his role as Ali Khan/ Nawab Sahab in Heroes.
The following decade of his career was largely dominated by many television series and reality shows. His most recent appearance on the silver screen was in 2020 as Victor in Malang, and Rajeev Arya in The Girl On The Train. This is one big name that fans are eager to see once again and are expecting a lot more.
The name itself is so fraught with glamour, elegance and talent that she needs no introduction. If I had it my way, I would personally escort Sen back into the limelight which she very well deserves. Sushmita Sen is one mammoth personality with a trail of achievements following all her endeavours. This brought her to the list of Bollywood actors fans want back on screen beacuse she totally deserves a comeback.
The gateway to Bollywood opened for her when she won the Miss Universe title in 1994, being the first Indian to achieve that. Since then she has primarily worked in Hindi films. Sen got the Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the comedy film Biwi No.1 (1999), and was also nominated in the category for her roles in Sirf Tum (1999) and Filhaal… (2002). Some of her commercially successful films are Aankhen (2002), Main Hoon Na (2004) and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005).
During her prime she delivered great hits with Govinda and Salman Khan. Her acting alongside Govinda in Kyun kii Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta (2001) was very well appreciated by the audience. Apart from light comedies, she has also showcased herself in serious dramas like Aag (2007) alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Zor (1998). Despite a fruitful career, we know that the actress has much more potential. She would be a perfect fit for a Samantha Jones-level awesome character. And soon our fan-favorite shall return.
Ameesha Patel is one common name among the Bollywood actors fans want back on screen. This doe-eyed Indian beauty rose to fame after working alongside Hrithik Roshan in the romantic thriller blockbuster Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000).
Her carrier rose to prominence by working in the top grossing production- Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). The movie was among the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema and it even earned her a Filmfare Special Performance Award. Humraaz (2002) and horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) are another hits by the actress.
Her portrayal of the characters she played earned her excellent remarks from critics. Taran Adarsh from IndiaFM once said that although the actress is one-film-old, he would give her a full marks for handling the complex role with elegance. Her performance is really natural and she even looks like the character she portrays. And this is enough to impress the audience.
This fame and blockbusters was short-lived and what followed was a series of hits which drove her out of limelight. But soon this biter phase passed and Patel delivered a few hits, especially in the comic genre. We crave for more from this talented woman and are confident that she will be back to reclaim her lost glory.
Sigh! This epitome of perfection! He made a special place in our hearts with Khoobsurat and then went on to play the perfect man of our dreams in Kapoor & Sons. Fawad Khan is a Pakistani actor best known for the unique and charming breath he adds to the characters he plays. Khan started his career as an actor with the television sitcom, Jutt and Bond. As an alternative he came up with a rock band, Entity Paradigm, with his co-stars in the show and started his music career as the lead singer of the band. This person is brimming with talent!
Before entering Bollywood Khan worked in a number of Pakistani TV shows. He made his Bollywood debut as a lead actor in the romantic comedy Khoobsurat (2014) for which he received the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He was praised for his role of a closeted homosexual in the critically and commercially successful family drama, Kapoor & Sons (2016). He was also considered for the lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat but the role ultimately went to Shahid Kapoor.
This eye-candy has been listed among the “Sexiest Asian Males” by the British magazine Eastern Eye. He has been turning down movie offers since 2018, possibly because of the increased tensions between India and Pakistan. Fans are craving to watch that intense look on his face once again on the big screen. He is an actor fans want back on screen, and they want him soon!
Amy Jackson is rather new to Bollywood. Although she is British, she received a promising welcome from Indian fans. This blue-eyed beauty debuted in Bollywood with Ekk Deewana Tha, opposite Prateik Babbar, has barely been seen in the Hindi film industry since Singh Is Bling.
It seems South-Indian cinemas are her Forte. She has appeared in a number of Tamil films including 2.0 where she was cast opposite superstar Rajnikanth. You can also catch her in the third season of the English TV series Supergirl. Despite being appreciated by the public for her work, her presence in Bollywood hasn,t been the strongest. Maybe she needs to work more to be recognised more because fans are expecting a lot more from her.
Which of these Bollywood not-so-biggies do you miss the most? Do not forget to mention their names in the comments. Or do you have a favorite out of the list?
