‘Arifureta : From Commonplace to World’s Strongest’ has been an overwhelming experience for anime lovers. Its first episode ‘The Monster of the Abyss’ aired on 8th July 2019 and was able to easily attract viewers’ attention. Grabbing attention for the anime series was not a hard job because the original book of the same name was already a hit. After a successful first season which ended in October 2019, the fans just can’t wait for Arifureta Season 2.

Season 1 plot

Seventeen year old Hajime Nagumo is the protagonist of the series. Hajime is an average high school kid who often falls asleep in the class. The world turns topsy-turvy for this teenager when he, along with his classmates are summoned in a fantasy world. Everyone treats them like gods and they also get some unique powers. With these powers, they get the task of saving the human race from extinction.

The story begins when Nagumo’s classmates bully him for being just a glorified blacksmith. Betrayal from one of his classmates forces him into an abyss which causes a transformation in him making him the antihero protagonist of the series. Writing any more will spoil the fun for first time viewers, hence I leave it to you to discover Nagumo’s secrets.

Will there be a season 2

After the engaging storyline of Arifureta Season 1, anime fans are clamoring for a season 2. It has been confirmed that a second season of the series is being produced. That is some joyous news for anime lovers.

In Arifureta Season 2, we can expect a romantic relationship to develop between the show’s protagonist, Nagumo and Yue, a trapped vampire. All the usual characters from season 1 will be there. In addition to that,  we can see a change in the character of Nagumo as he falls in love with Yue.

Season 1 ended with just 13 episodes which was not enough to satisfy anime fans. The production house decided to air two more episodes out of which one has already been aired. It is assumed that episode 15 might not be aired due to inappropriate content.

However, the series has faced production difficulties earlier as well. The whole production team was replaced and the show aired its first episode very late.

Arifureta anime series is based on a Japanese fantasy  novel of the the same name written by Ryou Shirakome. The new production team is headed by director Kinji Yoshimoto, and character designer Chika Kojima. The main story ended after 139 chapters. Nevertheless, the author continues to publish parts of the afterstory every Saturday.
