In this lockdown situation, Netflix India has brought to you exactly that. Get ready to experience what you want. Netflix is going to release a spectrum of shows, romance, action, thriller, drama, comedy, biography and what not. Exactly, 17 new and one hundred percent original shows have been lined up for you.

Absolute treat, right? Now that you have the adrenaline rushing in your body let us get to know more about the shows.

17 New Netflix India Releases: 

1. Ludo

The most loved genres, comedy drama is here to entertain you to the fullest. Especially when we have Raj Kumar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi on the screen. A wholesome cast which includes Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, are all set to arrive on screen.
Four players, a high stakes game, and everything is planned. What will happen when their fate is in their hands and nothing is a coincidence?

2. Raat Akeli Hai

The already released and loved by the audience, Raat Akeli Hai is the quintessential Nawazuddin Siddique and Radhika Apte starrer movie. The trailer was very exciting and so was the movie itself. As the plot moves forward, the audience unveils the truth with Jatil Yadav, the investigating officer played by Siddique. Carefully crafted to be on point murder mystery, Raat Akeli Hai deserves an applaud. If you haven’t watched it yet, you are missing the craft.

3. Torbaaz

Among all the genres, how can action be left behind. Torbaaz is here to represent the action thriller theme. The Sanjay Dutt and Nargis Fakhri starrer, Torbaaz is based on a true story. Dutt plays an army officer in the movie. The movie is all about how the life of children in a refugee camp is and how it is transformed. Cricket is the game Dutt uses to change the lives of those children.

4. Dolly Kitty aur woh Chamakte Sitare

Balaji Films brings to us this amazing story of two women. Women telling women stories! The main characters of the story are two cousin sisters, Dolly and Kitty. The plot is all about how they find freedom, together, amidst their love-hate relationship. Leading cast includes, Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma along with Vikrant Massey. The movie portrays how these two small town girls reach out to those “Chamakte Sitare”.

5. Ginny weds Sunny

First questions first. Who are Ginny and Sunny? Well, Ginny is a strong-minded girl who represents a today’s generation woman. While Sunny is a guy who is different from Ginny in a lot of ways. How do they meet? They meet for an arranged marriage, obviously through their family and guess what? Ginny turns Sunny down. Quite predictable, right? But then how come the wedding part happen? That’s something you’ll know when you watch the movie. Come on guys how can we reveal everything!
If you are in for a nice romantic comedy with Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey then this is your chance.

6. Bombay Rose

Around all the experimentation the entertainment industry is undergoing, one such new attempt is that of Bombay Rose, the adult animation. This is the story of Salim and Kamala. But wait the film is not just about Salim and Kamala but two other stories also have a place. Based on true events, it also portrays the brutality of Bollywood and what actually happens.

This prize-winning piece of art took about six years to be made and now that it is going to be open for the masses, it will surely win hearts.

7. A Suitable Boy

Based on Vikram Seth’s novel of the same name, A Suitable Boy is a series which has been divided into six parts. Tanya Maniktala, Tabu, Ishaan Khattar and Ram Kapoor constitute the main cast. It is more about what happens in India. What according to the societal norms is a Suitable Boy. What are the expectations and what is the ground reality? The culture, the practices and the beliefs, it is all about India. With a stereotypical Indian backdrop, the language chosen here is English. How does it sound, you can very well have a look in the trailer.

8. Mismatched

How many of us know Mostlysane? A lot of us, of course. Especially when you are a YouTube addict. Prajakta Koli is all set for her new project, Mismatched. We will be seeing Prajakta’s acting talent in here. Her opposite actor here is Rohit Saraf.
The title itself says it all. A couple who are mismatched. How can a boy find his happily ever after in a girl who wants to be a techwizard? That is what the entire series portrays.

9. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl

To be released on 12th August 2020, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is the biopic of the first ever female Indian Air Force pilot, Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena. The story has to be extremely thrilling as it is obvious from the trailer. Janhvi Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi being the main cast members, play the daughter father duo, which is being liked by all. However, it will be interesting to see if the actors have succeeded in portraying the extra ordinary energy of the story.

10. Tribhanga: Tedhi Medhi Crazy

As we know that Tribhanga is an Odissi dance pose which is imperfect yet perfect. This is pretty much what the show is all about. Three women who live their life on their own ways and terms. The cast includes Kajol, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar. The trailer and the release date are not yet out but we do have the first look of this movie. Kajol is seen wearing a western outfit while Mithila is seen in a traditional attire, with her phone in her hand, most probably on a video call.

11. Kaali Khuhi

Every day and after as our lives go on, we cannot ignore some of the issues which are still prevalent in our society. Female infanticide being one of them. Kaali Khuhi is one such movie that throws light on the decreasing female ratio in India and why does it happen. Set in Punjab, it is the story of a young girl who wants to eradicate this issue. What happens throughout her journey is what the movie will portray. The cast members include Shabana Azmi, Satyadeep Mishra and Terrie Samundra.

12. Serious Men

Based on Manu Joseph’s book of the same name, Serious Men is a story about rags to riches. How a slum dweller’s son gets famous through his genius and what follows next is the direction where the plot leads. This new found fame is used by his father to improve their financial condition. But how does he maintain the fame? Or will he even be able to do that? The Nawazuddin Siddique starrer Serious Men will unveil this in the movie itself.

13. Class of ‘83

17 New Netflix India Releases

Releasing on 21st August 2020, Class of ’83 is a crime drama which depicts the story of redemption and fight back. Starring Bobby Deol, the plot revolves around Bombay police back in the year 1983. Sometimes, to maintain the order, law needs to be ignored. The trailer tells us exactly this. A squad is formed and trained to maintain the order and defy the law. Mastered and supervised by Vijay Singh, a policeman played by Bobby Deol.

14. AK vs AK

The casting of this film is quite interesting as it includes actor Anil Kapoor and Director Anurag Kashyap. And the name of the movie is their names’ initials. Not only the names but also the characters. As the two main characters of the film consist of an actor and a director. The plot is that this director kidnaps the daughter of an actor and films the entire story in real time. Interesting, right? Something we could expect Anurag Kashyap could do. Just kidding.

15. Masaba Masaba

The first look revealed shows Masaba reading a book in a somewhat clumsy room. Another look revealed shows Neena Gupta with a Veena in her hands and a smile on her face. It is the depiction of no one but Masaba Gupta’s own life. With the reel and real-life characters, Neena Gupta and Masaba Gupta, they play the mother daughter duo. Mostly based on Masaba’s diverse life, the show has a great deal of humor.

16. Bombay Begums

It is no hidden fact that women always have to make hard choices, no matter which era it is. And ambitions are always left on stake, whether they want it or not, knowingly or unknowingly. Five women quoted as “Begums” go on in life to seek their own truth. There is some unbreakable bond that brings them together. In the first look, Pooja Bhatt is seen sitting on a Royal Chair with a Royal like looking attire and pride on her face. The cast includes, Pooja Bhatt, Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur and Aadhya Anand.

17. Bhaag Beanie Bhaag

An aspiring female comedian, a proposal popping boyfriend and a little messy kinda life. Bhaag Beanie Bhaag is all about Beanie, played by Swara Bhaskar. Sometimes it so happens that we know exactly what we want from life but somehow everything goes out of place and life becomes messy. Beanie will tell you how to carve a life that you want for yourself in between all the mess and chaos. The first look reveals Swara Bhaskar standing on a stage in front of a mike most probably for a standup comedy show. Other actors in the show include comedian Varun Thakur, Dolly Singh, Ravi Patel and Girish Kulkarni. A light hearted comedy with much essential essence of life.
